Character Sketch: A.P

A.P is a grand tree with green leaves angled to the sun
and branches spread wide to net the nesting birds.
A cool, calm, verdant, shade.

She is the dryad,
the sentinel-guardian of a sacred flock,
who soothes the weary traveler and sends the reckless to pernicious sleep.

She is a faithful keeper of her treasure-hoard.
She guards with spear and shield
and sings refreshment over her domain.

She is the imp that haunts the vale
with the luster of a sun-touched petal

and the grace of windswept grass.

Character Sketch: J.P

J.P is a Kracken.
A force.
He cannot be denied or ignored.

A passionate practitioner of scientific thought,
He pours himself into mold after mold,
Careful to fold each limb within the line,
So far as the lines hold.

Within in each shape, he seeks essential perfection and true form.
Discarding incongruent segments as hollow shell.

He is clever and quick.
Strength by adaptation,
Observation,
Iteration.

He eyes the board, knows the plays, and uses his piece in turn.
Positioning, predicting, and posing.

He sees in the flow of time a gentrification,
And so, with expectation,
He will go wherever it is that novel currents flow,
Believing that by doing he will grow more fitted to be the perfected mold.

Doggedly optimistic.
Determined.
Decisively resolved to shape the world.

Kettlebell

Emotion hangs like a kettlebell tied to my neck,
pulling my shoulders over, down, and in,
and holding my face to the ground,

Try as I might, I cannot lift it,
nor can I cut the string to cut it free,
because the string is me.

So I hold the weight with hollow eyes
and hope for something to reverse my gravity,
and temporarily set me free,
and let me turn my head to see the skies.
